MAJOR EXPANSION PLANNED

Facilities to be Doubled in Size to Meet Growing Customer Demands

GARLAND, Texas - March 24, 2006 - Garrett Metal Detectors has begun construction of a major expansion of its headquarters and

manufacturing facilities that will double the size of the company’s operations in Garland. Groundbreaking was held Friday (March 24)

with Congressman Sam Johnson joining Charles Garrett, founder and president of the company, in the ceremony.

When the new facilities are completed in late fall, Garrett Metal Detectors will occupy approximately

100,000 square feet in two Garland locations. In addition to its current headquarters

and plant at 1881 W. State Street, Garrett also has a secondary manufacturing facility at the

company’s former headquarters at 2814 National Drive, also in Garland.

“This plant expansion is necessary because of the continuing development of our company with

demand for both hobby and security products continuing to increase,” said Mr. Charles Garrett.

“With the newly expanded facilities we will be able to satisfy requirements of our customers more

efficiently as well as continue to develop new and more innovative metal detector products.”

Mr. Garrett stated that construction would include complete refurbishing of headquarters offices

at the State Street locations as well as the enlargement of production and warehouse facilities.

“New equipment will be added that will significantly increase our manufacturing efficiency, and

we will increase the capacity of our shipping and warehouse operations,” he stated.

Garrett is the world’s largest manufacturer of metal detection equipment. Its security detectors are familiar sights in airports, court
houses,

office buildings and other facilities over the world. The company’s hobby detectors are widely used in the search for coins

and other valuables on beaches, in parks and elsewhere.

The enlarged facilities there will include a formal conference/training

center to meet the steadily growing demands of The Garrett Academy,

which offers training in the use of metal detection equipment.

“The company’s current museum of relics and other objects found with

metal detectors will be more than doubled in size,” Mr. Garrett noted.

“We believe the enlarged area will permit us to display a wider selection

of artifacts that demonstrate the abilities of Garrett metal detectors.

We hope that these new exhibits will inspire both veteran and novice treasure hunters.” Expansion plans call for including in the new

company museum the actual workbench where Mr. Garrett created the first Garrett detector in the garage of the family’s Garland

residence.

Garrett manufactures a complete line of detectors designed to locate buried treasure, ranging from simple models for beginning hobbyists

to complex instruments used by professional treasure hunters, both on land and under water. These Garrett detectors offer

numerous exclusive innovations, including the ability to determine the size of a target before it is uncovered.

Since its entrance into the security detector market some 20 years ago, the company has grown to become one of the industry’s lead
ers

in this field. Popular Garrett walk-through and hand-held security detectors can be found today in some 100 countries throughout

the world. Garrett is the only American manufacturer whose detectors are approved by the Transportation Security Administration for

use in U.S. air terminals.

CONGRESSMAN SAM JOHNSON

PRESENTS TMAC AWARD

Garrett Metal Detectors Honored for Excellence in Manufacturing Operations

GARLAND, Texas - March 24, 2006 - Garrett Metal Detectors was honored by the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC)

with its Award of Excellence. Congressman Sam Johnson presented the award Friday (March 24) to Charles Garrett, founder and

president of the company, at ceremonies in the Company’s headquarters and plant in Garland.

Garrett Metal Detectors received the award for its excellence in manufacturing operations, according to Deborreh Wallace, cus
tomer,

government and industry relations manager of TMAC. In recent months Garrett has satisfied strong demand for its security

equipment from the Winter Olympic Games in Italy to major airports and other security installations. At the same time Garrett has

produced consistently increasing numbers of hobby detectors used for finding coins, jewelry and other treasures.

TMAC was organized to focus on the needs of small to mid-size manufacturers and to help them satisfy these needs. TMAC’s goal

is to strengthen small companies and local economies over the state by helping them implement sound manufacturing strategies

that would ordinarily be available only to larger companies.

In accepting the award Mr. Garrett noted that it was timely and appropriate because the company is now beginning a major expansion

that will double the size of its facilities and manufacturing operations in Garland.

ROBERT PODHRASKY, DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING FOR GARRETT METAL DETECTORS JOINS

TMAC BOARD

Podhrasky Brings Insight, Experience to Texas Manufacturers Assistance Center

GARLAND, Texas - February 10, 2006 - Garrett Metal Detectors’ Senior Vice-President and Director of Engineering,

Robert Podhrasky, was recently invited to join the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Centers’ (TMAC)

Advisory Board. TMAC is designed to enhance the competitive position of the Texas’ manufacturing sector by

focusing on the needs of small to mid-sized manufacturers. Focus areas include lean manufacturing and office

principles, strategic management, quality systems, environment and safety, workforce development and technology

integration. Garrett Metal Detectors manufactures ground search, walk-through and hand-held metal

detection products and provides training for security applications around the world.

“Garrett Metal Detectors recognizes the important role TMAC plays in the success of Texas-based manufacturing companies,” commented

Podhrasky, Sr. VP and Director of Engineering. “TMAC strengthens small companies and local economies across the state by

implementing sound manufacturing strategies that would otherwise be available only to large corporations. In fact, LEAN manufacturing

principles used by Garrett, beginning in 2001, allowed our Company to increase production standards by three to four times our

rate in previous years.”

The Lean Manufacturing advocated by TMAC, primarily focuses on identifying and eliminating non-value added activities by im
proving

the flow of the product through the assembly line. Lean ideals challenge traditional manufacturing concepts by focusing on

throughput, keeping the product moving, removing non-valued steps and value stream efficiencies.

“The TMAC Advisory board consists of professionals we consider industry leaders and whom we look to advice and counsel on TMAC

products and services,” noted Deborreh Wallace, Customer Government and Industry Relations Manager for TMAC. “We currently

have 15 members serving on the advisory board exclusively from the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. Bob was among those tapped out

because of his strong engineering and manufacturing background in a fiercely competitive market. He has personally advocated our

purpose in Washington and has demonstrated an enormous amount of support for TMAC’s efforts to support small companies across

the Lone Star State.”

Podhrasky participated in Washington Hill Day in 2004 to advocate extended federal funding for TMAC to U.S. House and Senate

representatives. As a TMAC Board Advisor he will advise on ways to improve the services and practices offered by TMAC representatives

to small companies across Texas.
